Svayambhoja is a Yadava chief of the Andhaka branch of the Satvata line, son of Pratiksatra and father of Hridika. He occupies the seventh position in the patrilineal succession from Bhajamana and is the immediate grandfather of the warrior Kritavarma, one of the three survivors of the Kurukshetra War. Svayambhoja is attested in the Harivamsha (Harivamsha Parva, chapter 38), the Bhagavata Purana (IX.24.26), the Brahmanda Purana (III.71), the Matsya Purana (44), the Vayu Purana (96), the Vishnu Purana (IV.14), and the Garuda Purana. Like Pratiksatra, he appears in these sources solely in genealogical succession lists; no independent narrative episode involving him is recorded in any primary source.

Svayambhoja is the penultimate figure in the generational chain between Bhajamana and Hridika. His father Pratiksatra and grandfather Shami represent the generations through which the Bhajamana line passed after the initial branches of Rajadhideva's sons. Through his son Hridika and grandsons Kritavarma and Shatadhanva, Svayambhoja's household became the most historically prominent expression of the Andhaka clan in the period of the Kurukshetra War. The element bhoja embedded in his name may reflect the point at which the Andhaka-Bhoja dual identity — visible in the Mahabharata's conflicting designations of Kritavarma — began to crystallise within this branch of the dynastic tradition.
